GMC marque now includes SUVs, pickup trucks, and vans. At Doral’s Auto Repair we maintain and repair a wide range of GMC vehicles, including:
GMC Acadia has been around for over a decade. It can seat seven people and tow up to 4,000 pounds. Lane change assist technology and a rear view camera are included, to make freeway driving and parking easy. Both 2007 and 2008 Acadia models had transmission problems, and engine problems as well. By 2010, Acadia had to deal with premature wear of the timing chain, while the 2012 model suffered from air conditioning problems. More recent models report few issues. Doral’s Auto Repair has experienced mechanics and state-of-the-art tools to maintain and repair your Acadia – so bring it to Doral’s next time it needs oil change or repairs.
GMC Savana Passenger and Cargo vans have few issues reported, and there is no pattern of failures that we can detect. GMC Savana Passenger van can seat 12 passengers, while Savana Cargo van seats two, but also has cargo space for the over 3000lb payload. When your Savana needs maintenance or repairs, bring it to our San Leandro repair shop – our technicians can work on either gasoline or diesel version.
GMC Terrain is stylish and delivers plenty of performance. It was named 2015 Most Dependable Compact SUV by J.D. Power and Associates. This crossover SUV continues to improve, and is a far cry from the 2010 model which suffered from transmission problems, and 2010 and 2011 Terrains that had issues with excessive engine oil consumption. More recent versions of Terrain report few problems, and it sure is fun to drive.
GMC Sierra 1500 is a workhorse that you can see everywhere on Bay Area roads. J.D. Power and Associates ranked GMC Sierra the most dependable heavy load pickup truck in 2015, even though the 2014 model had problems with headlights and leaking ac condenser. We see few problems with the more recent models. So if you give your Sierra 1500 regular maintenance, you should expect years of reliable service.
GMC Sierra 2500 can do some heavy lifting, including almost 4000lb payload capacity, and is tow rated for 18500lb. It can be configured either with a gasoline engine, or with the Duramax Diesel engine. Naturally, our technicians are equally comfortable working with gas or diesel engines – so whichever configuration you own, bring it to Doral’s for routine maintenance and for repairs. Generally it does what it’s supposed to do – haul and tow heavy stuff. While the 2015 Sierra had headlights issues, and 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 had problems with high pressure fuel pump failures, overall we find few complaints about this truck. If you follow the manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule, you should get years of faithful service from your Sierra 2500.
GMC Sierra 3500 Heavy Duty is a one-ton pickup, with max conventional trailering at 20,000lb. While there were sporadic problem reports, like the 2004 GMC Sierra 3500 had drivetrain problems, and 2015 Sierra 3500 had reports of light problems, overall we find few accounts of systemic problems. Doral’s Auto Repair offers a full range of GMC Sierra 3500 maintenance and repair services at our San Leandro auto repair facility. Call us for an appointment.
GMC Yukon has been around for almost 30 years, and recently has collected several J.D. Power and Associates awards. It can seat 8 comfortably. For 2015 and 2016 J.D. Power and Associates named it the Most Dependable Large SUV. Best Performance award for a Large SUV also went to 2017 Yukon. When it comes to models you are likely to own or encounter when buying a used Yukon ( we highly recommend a pre-purchase inspection for all used vehicle purchases), two model years and out for known problems: 2007 Yukon suffered from excessive engine oil consumption, while the 2015 GMC Yukon had problems with a/c, and transmission hesitation was also reported. But overall GMC Yukon is as tough as its name implies.
GMC Canyon can tow 7,700lb and was 2015 and 2016 Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year. Ironically, these two years were not the best for reliability – 2015 GMC Canyon had transmission problems and power steering issues, while 2016 Canyon also suffered from transmission problems and issues with interior accessories. Fortunately, we see few reports of problems for other model years. When your GMC Canyon needs maintenance, or repair services, call Doral’s in San Leandro – our technicians will take great care of your vehicle.
