Jeep Wrangler – the iconic four-wheel drive SUV, gives you off-road freedom. It is the recipient of the Four Wheeler magazine Four-Wheeler of the Year award in 2007 and 2013. One of the most common problems with the Jeep Wrangler is the failure of the TIPM – totally integrated power module. Wranglers can also face suspension issues.

Jeep Cherokee evolved over the decades from a full size SUV, to one of the first compact SUVs, and its current incarnation is that of a compact crossover. Jeep Cherokee has had three tough years: 2014 and 2015 models had lots of transmission issues, while the 2016 model faced engine problems.

Jeep Compass has plenty of cargo space with a modern aesthetic design. First introduced in 2007, it has been a solid performer. 2007 model did suffer from control arm and bushing failures, and the 2014 version had issues with noisy rear brakes. Jeep Patriot shared the same GS platform, but sadly it was discontinued in 2017. Great fun to drive, the Patriot had some issues – 2008 model had a leaky sunroof, while 2009 version had transmission issues. Keep your Patriot in top shape with regular oil changes and maintenance inspections.

Jeep Grand Cherokee has won dozens of awards for luxury, safety, off-road capability and value. Still, even Grand Cherokee had a couple of tough years: 2014 model had transmission issues, specifically shifting problems, while the 2011 Grand Cherokee had problems with the TIPM.

Jeep Renegade is a subcompact SUV that was introduced in 2015. This was also the toughest year for the Renegade – it suffered from both electrical problems and transmission problems. 2016 model had engine issues. Subsequent models report few complaints.

Jeep Gladiator is the first Jeep pickup introduced since Jeep Comanche was discontinued in 1992. Jeep Gladiator offers both gasoline and diesel engine options, and it was introduced in 2019. Being so new, there are few problem reports, except for some steering issues.

Jeep Liberty was designed as a replacement for Jeep Cherokee, and just as the Cherokee, it had a unibody design. 2006 and 2007 models had problems with window regulators, while 2002 Liberty had engine problems. Now that your Jeep Liberty is getting on in age, regular oil service and maintenance is crucial to keeping it on the road.
